Husqvarna Chainsaws
The chainsaws came into being around 1920s. Husqvarna started making its chain saws in the year 1959. The chain saws were only used for felling and bucking, while de-limbing was still done with an axe. The model 70 was introduced in the early 60s. Husqvarna helped to revolutionize forestry. The Model 70 of Husqvarna was so light and also handy that it could be used for even de-limbing. They were able to introduce this due to their excessive experience in building engines that were light and robust.
Chainsaw were then used for a variety pf purposes and for longer period’s everyday. The problems due to vibrations from the engine and the bar became quite common. Because of this extensive R&D was done to find ways to reduce the vibrations in the handle in order to minimize the associated health hazards.
The next step in chainsaw was the development of Husqvarna Type 180 in 1969, the world’s first chain saw that was integrated with vibration damping. The saw was a concrete example of Husqvarna’s philosophy where they focused on the work situation of the user. The Husqvarna Type 180 was able to set the standards for a series of new Husqvarna models, and it was an inspiration to all the other chain saw manufacturers.
They continued their hard work to improve the working situation of the user by developing new Husqvarna saws. Another example of their hard work is the invention of the inertia-activated chain brake, which helped to greatly reduces the risk of injury in the case of uncontrolled kickback. It was yet another milestone created by Husqvarna that became a standard for all modern chain saws. They worked closely with the professionals who work out in the forest that enabled them to develop saws in accordance with their requirements, and to help make their working situation less strenuous. Their solutions have helped lawmakers all over the world to place more stringent requirements on the other chain saw manufacturers. As they continue to push forward new developments it would benefit all users and help them with better working conditions.
Many of the forestry workers have suffered from decreased circulation in their hands and fingers. The vibrations caused by the chainsaws can lead to white fingers. Husqvarna has now developed a new chainsaw, named as the 180, a new model, which has lower vibration levels than all of the other chainsaws.
